Meytr uses four independent metaphysical systems, combined into a single rules-based score. This page explains each system, how the score works, and what you get at each subscription tier.
Four systems. One score. Every system is calculated independently from your birth data, then combined using fixed weights to produce the Meytr Compatibility Score (MCS).
Ancient Chinese metaphysics: the highest-weighted system in Meytr
BaZi (八字, "Eight Characters") maps your birth year, month, day, and hour to four elemental pillars: each representing a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch. Together, these eight characters define your elemental nature, life cycles, strengths, and vulnerabilities.
Meytr calculates the elemental harmony between two people's Four Pillars. It checks for clashes, combinations, and supporting relationships between the stems and branches of both charts. A high BaZi compatibility score means your elemental energies support rather than conflict with each other.
BaZi is the most granular of the four systems. It uses your exact birth hour, which produces 12 possible variations within a single day. This precision makes it the strongest predictor of long-term elemental compatibility.
Sun, Moon, and Rising signs: the three pillars of astrological identity
Western Astrology uses your exact birth date, time, and location to calculate your natal chart. The three most important placements are your Sun sign (core identity and ego), Moon sign (emotional nature and needs), and Rising sign (how you present to others and approach the world).
Meytr calculates elemental and modal compatibility between two people's Sun, Moon, and Rising signs. It checks for harmonious aspects (trines, sextiles) and challenging aspects (squares, oppositions) between the two charts, producing a compatibility percentage for this system.
Numbers derived from your birth date and full birth name
Numerology assigns numerical values to your birth date and the letters in your full birth name to derive four core numbers: Life Path (your primary purpose), Expression (your natural talents), Soul Urge (your inner motivation), and Personality (how others perceive you).
Meytr compares the Life Path numbers of two people to determine whether their fundamental purposes align, conflict, or complement each other. It also checks Expression and Soul Urge compatibility to assess communication and motivational alignment.
The 12-year animal cycle with elemental polarity
Shio is the Chinese Zodiac system based on a 12-year cycle, each year governed by an animal sign (Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig). Each animal also carries an elemental year (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) and a polarity (Yin or Yang).
Meytr checks the traditional compatibility relationships between two people's Shio animals: identifying natural allies, conflicting pairs, and neutral combinations. The elemental year and polarity add a second layer of compatibility analysis.
The MCS is a single percentage that represents how compatible two people are across all four systems. It is calculated using a fixed set of rules: not a machine learning model. The same birth data always produces the same score.
A deterministic system produces the same output for the same input, every time. Your MCS with any person is fixed from the moment both profiles are created. It does not change based on your behaviour, engagement, or time spent on the platform.
Platforms that use machine learning adjust their recommendations based on what keeps you engaged: not what is genuinely compatible. Meytr does not do this. Your matches are ranked by calculated compatibility, not by predicted engagement.
The weights are fixed and documented. They do not change based on user behaviour or platform updates.
A compatibility score tells you how much two people align. An AI Match Narrative tells you why, and what that means in practice.
For each match, Meytr generates a written narrative that explains the specific points of compatibility and tension between your profile and theirs. It references the actual systems: your BaZi pillars, your Life Path numbers, your astrological aspects: and translates them into plain language.
"Your BaZi charts show a strong Metal-Water combination: your Metal Day Master is supported by their Water element, creating a nurturing dynamic where their energy reinforces your natural strengths rather than competing with them."
"Your Life Path 7 and their Life Path 2 create a complementary pairing: you bring analytical depth and introspection; they bring emotional attunement and relational skill. The tension to watch is your need for solitude versus their need for connection."
Narratives are generated from your actual birth data: not generic templates.
Once you and a match confirm your partnership, the Joint Intelligence System (JIS) becomes available. It is a shared dashboard that provides ongoing guidance for your relationship: calculated from both partners' birth profiles combined.
A single dashboard showing both partners' profiles overlaid: where you align, where you differ, and how to navigate both.
A personalised roadmap based on both partners' numerology and timing cycles: showing optimal periods for major decisions.
Guidance on the best windows for shared decisions: starting a business, making investments, relocating, or making long-term commitments.
Ask any question about your relationship, compatibility, or timing. The AI answers using both partners' birth data as its reference.
BaZi and numerology cycles change over time. JIS tracks both partners' current cycles and flags important periods as they approach.
Each partner has their own private profile view. The JIS shared view is only accessible to both partners after mutual confirmation.
